Men of Consequence - Past

John Wooden 1910-2010
John Wooden, born in 1910, was a basketball coaching legend known for his extraordinary impact both on and off the court. Hailing from Indiana, Wooden's coaching career soared when he took the helm at UCLA, leading the Bruins to an unprecedented 10 NCAA championships in 12 years, including a remarkable seven consecutive titles. But Wooden's greatness wasn't just in winning games; it was in his philosophy and mentorship. He preached his "Pyramid of Success," emphasizing values like hard work and integrity, leaving a lasting impression on countless lives. Wooden's legacy transcends basketball, serving as a timeless example of leadership and excellence. He wasn't just a coach; he was a mentor, philosopher, and role model, defining what it means to be a man of consequence.
Additional Fact: Pyramid of Success is a great system used by leaders to create sustainable results and a framework that extends beyond sports but into business, marriage, and fatherhood. See below and credit to www.coachjohnwooden.com.

Men of Consequence Framework:
The Power of Intention
As previously written in the last newsletter, we broke down the Step Up Method Framework that is leveraged by Men of Consequence. This week the focus needs to be centered around intention and a simple action that may help many.
Living with intention is like steering a ship with purpose amidst storms of life. It's about making deliberate choices that align with our values, goals, and dreams, rather than drifting aimlessly with the currents of life. When we live with intention, every action becomes meaningful, every moment an opportunity for growth. It empowers us to prioritize what truly matters, to focus our energy on what brings us joy and fulfillment. With intention as our compass, we navigate life's challenges with resilience and determination, creating a legacy worth pursuing.
Action:
This week let's focus on implementing a morning routine that sets the tone for success and productivity.
Start by waking up 30 minutes earlier than usual to carve out dedicated time for yourself.
Use this time for activities that nourish your mind, body, and spirit. Begin with a few minutes of mindfulness or prayer to center yourself and set positive intentions for the day ahead, asking God to set the path before you.
If your wife is an early riser, spend time praying with her and for her.
Next, engage in some form of physical activity, whether it's a brisk walk or workout to get your blood flowing and energy levels up.
Then, continue to fuel your spirit, if you have kids, give them the fatherly love they need before heading off to school by encouraging them and getting their spirits up before walking out the door.
Finally, spend a few minutes reviewing your goals and priorities for the day, setting yourself up for success and focus.
By starting your day with purpose and intention, you'll set the stage for a productive and fulfilling week ahead.
